Oracle SL500 Tape Library Certified Device Drivers Installation of the following certified device driver combination is described below.
Device Driver Installation for XenData Server Software Installation Prerequisites Ensure that the tape hardware is connected to the server. For SAS connections you must have point to point connections, for Fibre channel you can connect via a switch, however our recommendation is also point to point. The tape hardware must be powered on and in a ready state. Tape Drive Drivers Depending on the drive type within the library you will need to load the appropriate drivers, If the library contains HP drives, please follow the section called HP, if the library has IBM drives please follow the section called IBM. HP Download the zipped device driver installation files from the link below to a folder on the C: drive of the Server. Note: This will download driver version 1.0.7.1. Do not use 1.0.7.2 as we have found issues with that version. » For LTO 4/5/6 drives download cp020353.exe Now double click on the downloaded file to launch the HP Storage Tape Drives for Windows utility, click 'Extract' and select a location on the C: drive for the extracted files. Launch Windows Device Manager and install the LTO tape drive device driver for the first drive as described below.
Repeat this process for each drive. IBM The server operating system may install Microsoft device drivers for any attached IBM tape drives and will install a XenData driver for the tape library's medium changer. The tape drive drivers should be changed as described here. Download the zipped device driver installation files from the link below to a folder on the C: drive of the Server. » Download device driver - Windows 2008 R2 » Download device driver - Windows 2012 R2 Unzip the files. Browse to the 'install_exclusive.exe' file and right-click on it. Select 'Run as administrator'. The program will launch a command line window and then display 'Program Successful'. This completes the installation of an IBM device driver. Note that if connections to the SAS or Fibre ports on the rear of the server are swapped, it may be necessary to reinstall the driver. Library Drivers Windows Server 2008 R2 and Server 2012 R2 use digitally signed drivers, so the XenData library driver will be automatically used when the hardware is attached. Supported Tape Formats The following drive/media combinations are supported by the software with HP LTO-4, LTO-5 and LTO-6 drives:
