Using Trend Micro Deep Security 9 Antivirus with XenData6 Server on Windows Server 2008 R2 or 2012 R2

Updated July 31, 2014

Introduction
When installing antivirus protection on an archive running XenData6 Server, it is important to choose an antivirus (AV) solution that has been certified by XenData. Both XenData6 Server software and AV software use file system filtering techniques and there may be undesirable interactions if you use an AV product that has not been certified.

Certified Options
The Real-time Virus Scan and Manual Scan functions of Trend Micro Deep Security 9 are certified for use with XenData6 Server software running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2. It is noted that during a Manual Scan the product does not recall off-line files.

Notes
If a Malware file is detected, Deep Security 9 will delete the file which contains the virus, and advise accoringly via its event logs. However a representation of the file will still be visible on the XenData Cache. This file will not be written to the archive, it is not restorable and can be deleted manually.
