Using Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection

Updated June 20, 2017

Introduction
When installing antivirus protection on an archive running XenData6 Server, it is important to choose an antivirus (AV) solution that has been certified by XenData. Both XenData6 Server software and AV software use file system filtering techniques and there may be undesirable interactions if you use an AV product that has not been certified.

Certified Options
The Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection is certified for use with XenData6 Server software running on Windows Server 2012 R2. The only requirement is to be sure to not block the process "XDService.exe", which by default, is not blocked upon installing Webroot SecureAnywhere.

Manual or scheduled scans can be performed on the logical drive under XenData control, as the files will not be restored from tape when scanned by Webroot SecureAnywhere.
