XenData Version 7 Antivirus Software Compatibility

Introduction
When installing antivirus protection on a system running Version 7 of XenData Archive Series software, it is important to choose an antivirus (AV) solution that has been certified by XenData. Both the XenData and AV software use file system filtering techniques and there may be undesirable interactions if you use an AV product that has not been certified.

XenData Software installed on Windows Server 2012 R2
The following antivirus software is certified for use with XenData Archive Series software running on Windows Server 2012 R2:

  • Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.0. Configuration of this product with XenData Archive Series software is described further in XenData Technical Note XTN1802.
  • Intel McAfee Endpoint Security version 10.2. Configuration of this AV product with XenData software is described further in XenData Technical Note XTN1605.
  • ESET File Security version 6.4. Configuration of this AV product with XenData software is described further in XenData Technical Note XTN1607.
  • Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection version 9.0.15.65.  This AV product works with XenDatar software with no special configuration required as described in XenData Technical Note XTN1703.
  • Sophos Endpoint Security version 5.5.0, with Exploit Prevention, Patch Agent, Anti-virus, and Endpoint Defense.  Configuration of this AV product with XenData software is described further in XenData Technical Note XTN1704.

XenData Software installed on Windows Server 2016
The following antivirus software is certified for use with XenData Archive Series software running on Windows Server 2016:

  • Symantec Endpoint Protection 14.0. Configuration of this product with XenData Archive Series software is described further in XenData Technical Note XTN1802.
  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows (Version 11). Configuration of this product with XenData Archive Series software is described further in XenData Technical Note XTN2006.
  • Windows Defender with no special configuration required.

XenData Software installed on Windows Server 2019

The following antivirus software is certified for use with XenData Archive Series software running on Windows Server 2019:

  • Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows (Version 11). Configuration of this product with XenData Archive Series software is described further in XenData Technical Note XTN2006.
  • Windows Defender with no special configuration required.

XenData Software installed on Windows 10 Pro
The following antivirus software is certified for use with the Cloud File Gateway Edition of XenData Archive Series software running on Windows 10 Pro:

  • Windows Defender with no special configuration required.
