XenData Client Utilities

Updated Feb. 22, 2018

Overview

XenData Client Utilities runs on a Windows client. They allow a client to communicate with the XenData system via a file share and use XenData specific functions, such as File Explorer flush and prefetch.

For this to work, the client needs to communicate with the XenData server. From Windows 2012R2, Microsoft added enhanced security that blocks all unknown network calls. Changes have to be made to the registry of the server running the XenData Archive Series software to allow these XenData specific calls.
