The LTO Edition of XenData Archive Series software manages the XenData range of archive appliances from the X1 to the X100. It reads from and writes to LTO using either the LTFS format or the XenData TAR format. The capabilities of the system can be extended by installing our Legacy File System Extension software upgrade. It adds read-only support for the following legacy LTO formats:
- Active Circle TAR
- Atempo
- Cache-A TAR
- DIVA proprietary and AXF
After being catalogued on a XenData system, the files become available for restore. As an optional additional step, the files may be easily migrated to new LTO cartridges written using the LTFS interchange standard. Or alternatively, the content can be automatically migrated to cloud object storage.
