XenData Cloud File Gateway software runs on a Windows server or VM and delivers the following functionality when used with Wasabi object storage.
In a simple configuration, you can run file-based applications on your on-premises network and write to and read from Wasabi object storage. The gateway manages a local disk cache that provides enhanced performance. It will manage up to 2 billion files and is ideal for large unstructured files including video. The gateway supports partial file restore, allowing video files to be played directly from the cloud.
By adding the XenData Multi-Site Sync service, files and folders stored in Wasabi object storage may be synchronized across multiple gateways. It provides file sharing across multiple sites and applications running in the cloud, boosting the productivity of distributed teams by enabling them to seamlessly share and synchronize files across all locations. With every gateway kept consistently in sync, users at each facility will think they’re working on one big local file server.
XenData Cloud File Gateway writes to Wasabi S3 buckets in a standardized way making it compatible with buckets created by other standard applications such as the Wasabi Client for Mac or Windows. In addition, it has full compatibility with Wasabi Ball transfers.
